Who is Dame Taylor?

Dame Taylor is an American music producer, creative entrepreneur, and community organizer from Los Angeles, California. Known for his early success in commercial music production and his extensive behind-the-scenes work within the Los Angeles music industry, Taylor has collaborated with a range of major recording artists and brands over the course of a career spanning more than 15 years. Following his transition from full-time music production, he founded Monster Sessions, a music and creative development platform focused on education, collaboration, mentorship, and community building for emerging creatives.

EARLY LIFE - Dame was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Growing up in a city deeply connected to entertainment and music culture, Taylor developed an early passion for music production during his teenage years. Much of his inspiration came from his cousin, who played a major role in introducing him to music and encouraging his creative interests.

At the age of 16, Taylor received his first major music placement when he produced music for a Burger King commercial. Two years later, at 18, he produced music for a McDonald’s commercial, marking the beginning of his professional career in commercial and entertainment music production.

MUSIC INDUSTRY CAREER - Taylor was introduced to the Los Angeles music industry through his manager, George Robertson, who had professional ties to Universal Music Group and Interscope Records. Through these early industry connections, Taylor gained access to studio environments and opportunities that allowed him to work alongside established producers, artists, and executives.

Throughout his career, Taylor worked with and contributed to projects involving Kanye West, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Akon, and several other prominent figures in hip hop and popular music. Much of his work took place behind the scenes, where he developed a reputation for creative production, artist collaboration, and studio development.

Taylor spent more than 15 years working throughout the Los Angeles music industry, contributing to recording sessions, creative development, production work, and artist collaborations across multiple genres and commercial projects.

PERSONAL CHALLENGES & TRANSITION - A major turning point in Taylor’s life and career came following the death of his cousin, whose influence had originally inspired him to pursue music. The loss deeply affected Taylor and caused him to reconsider his direction within the music industry.

Ironically, many of Taylor’s largest professional opportunities arrived shortly after this period of personal tragedy. During this time, he accepted opportunities to work behind the scenes with several established music producers, further expanding his experience within the entertainment industry. Despite his growing success, the emotional impact of losing his cousin eventually led him to shift his focus away from traditional industry pursuits and toward community-driven creative work.
